John Beswick Lowry - Going to Work

LS Lowry painted only a small number of watercolours. This picture from 1959, returns to one of his favourite themes: a swarm of workers funnelling towards the factory gates to start their working day, against a landscape of terraced houses, looming structures, and smoking chimneys.
